Voted Irish album of the year 2017 by numerous media, Declan O’Rourke’s Chronicles Of The Great Irish Famine is the latest in a line that confirm his position as one of the most respected singer-songwriters in Ireland. Developed over fifteen years, this epic song-cycle combines the best of modern and traditional Irish music to present extraordinary true tales from a period of great upheaval and mass emigration.
“In an age where people are still fleeing their homelands en masse, struggling to escape tyranny and poverty, too often in vessels unfit for human transportation, these stories are as relevant as ever and speak to us of our own humanity.” (Declan O’Rourke)
“A work of art from start to finish. This will be around forever.” (BBC Radio Ulster)
