Masterclass for the Solo Performer

Recognised as one of the foremost theatrical exponents of the work of Samuel Beckett, Irish actor Conor Lovett has spent much of the last 6 years touring internationally as a solo performer. As well as acclaimed performances of the novels of The Beckett Trilogy he has performed the solo piece, Act Without Words I, as part of the Gate Theatre's Beckett Festival at The Barbican in London. Other non- solo Beckett roles include Vladimir in Waiting For Godot, Hamm in Endgame, Bem in What Where, B in Act Without Words II, B in Rough For Theatre I and The Speaker in A Piece of Monologue. Conor Lovett trained at Ecole Jacques Lecoq and has been a regular with Gare St Lazare Players since 1991. He has also worked with The Gate Theatres of London and Dublin, The Clod Ensemble (London), Lee Sekulic Company (UK), Corcadorca (Cork). Conor has worked in Theatre in Education with Down To Earth (Dublin) where he also taught on their Acting Academy and has given workshops in Ireland, the UK and Germany. This is a workshop for professional and student Actors and Directors on solo acting. Covering the rudiments of performance this is not just for those wishing to do solo work but participants will be expected to perform alone in many of the exercises.
