For its debut concert series, crunch cooperative, a trans-european new-music platform, asks what will the folk music of tomorrow’s world be? Writing for Frin Wolter and his augmented accordion, four composers from across Europe imagine possible narratives and visions – fragments of future folk traditions. Repurposed electronic memories, sonic fictions: the concert hall becomes a post-digital immersive space, in which the tensions of an ecological and political collapse give rise to a new folk mythology.
French premieres by Gráinne Murphy (IRE), Nik Bohnemburger (LUX), Fergal Dowling (IRE) and Finbar Hosie (FR/UK).
