Christmas is coming! And this recital by Irish pianist Thérèse Fahy and French actor Alexandre Martin-Varroy will delight children and adults alike. This evening, the performers take us to the “Children’s Corner” created for composer Claude Debussy’s beloved daughter, nicknamed Chouchou, and her teddy bear, the elephant Jimbo. These six short piano pieces brimming with mischief and tenderness will fill the intimate setting of the CCI’s chapel. Then, we will be transported to the adventures of another famous elephant, Babar, created by Jean de Brunhoff. The musical adaptation of Babar’s story, composed by Francis Poulenc, has sparked the imagination of generations of children, brought to us here by one of Ireland’s most celebrated pianists with narration by a most accomplished storyteller.
