In the presence of Tom Sullivan and the group Kíla

Set in 1845, Arracht centres on Irish fisherman Colmán Sharkey, who takes in a a stranger, Patsy, a former soldier, who arrives just ahead of the blight – a crop disease that caused the Great Famine, killing and displacing millions of people. Shot in Irish, entirely on the west coast of Ireland, the film narrates the fight of a man for survival during troubled times. A story of hope and poverty lead by the poignant performance of Dónall Ó Héalaí (Colmán), with music by the group Kíla, present for this screening presented by CCI.
