Around My Island tells the story of Irish sailor Tom Dolan and his attempt to become the fastest person to sail, single-handedly, around some of the most spectacular coastline in the world. We join Tom on board as he seizes a chance to make history, passing the stunning, historical landmarks that become his milestones on the 700-nautical mile voyage around Ireland.
We also learn about Tom himself, and his unlikely rise to the pinnacle of his sport having grown up on a farm in Ireland's midlands. We meet the people who know him best and can shed light on what drives his desire to take on one of the most challenging feats in sailing.
The screening of Around My Island will be followed by a short discussion with Tom himself (Eng/Fr).
