Scènes sur Boulevard, an art video by two Irish artists living in Paris, Anne Cleary et Dennis Connolly (IAT), was made between 2001 et 2002.
This screening at the Centre Culturel Irlandais follows on from the success of the art video at French, Swiss and German festivals. Over a period of twelve months, the artists installed their production studio on the fifth floor of a flat that looked over a boulevard in the north of Paris. Under the 'orwellian' eye of the camera, the day-to-day rhythms and the singular events of life in the area became the subject of these artists experimental work. Through a mélange of comical or musical performances, choreographies and personal accounts, the satire of IAT questions issues such as paranoia about safety, cultural integration and the place of the artist within the city.
