Albert Nobbs

Based on a novella by George Moore, Albert Nobbs tells the story of a 19th century Irish woman who has posed as a man for decades to be able to earn her living as a butler in one of Dublin’s smartest hotels. Albert meets a handsome painter and looks to escape the lie she has been living. John Banville was co-author of the screenplay.
