This evening CCI presents a screening of nine short films commissioned by the Irish Film Board to commemorate 1916. Capturing the turmoil and aftermath of the Easter Rising, the filmmakers’ responses range from accounts of individuals caught in the thick of the events and lives influenced forever to W. B. Yeats’ battle for design excellence in the new Free State. The stories are told using a wealth of techniques - animation, documentary and live action drama - one of the most charming being Ben O’Connor’s puppets and hand-made miniature sets. Young Irish film talent at its best.
