Composerand Doctor of Music Philip Hammond spent twenty years on the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and was notably in charge of an international arts festival in Washington DC in 2007. Now in retirement following an encompassing career in teaching, performing and writing, he is often engaged by BBC and RTÉ radios. Philip Hammond has received commissions from countless musicians and, amongst others, the Ulster Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland, the 2011 Belfast Festival at Queen’s University Belfast and for a “Requiem for the lost souls of the Titanic” in 2012.
