Deirdre O’Mahony

Deirdre O’Mahony is an Irish visual artist. Her art practice examines ideas of sustainability, food security and rural-urban relationships. Exhibiting nationally and internationally, she most recently received the 2018 Irish American Cultural Institute O’Malley Award. During her Paris residency, Deirdre O’Mahony will develop new artwork about landscape, identity and the West of Ireland as well as conducting research inton the French pharmacist A.A. Parmentier who worked across ideological divisions, changing cultural attitudes to food production in the eighteenth century.
