Dairena Ni Chinneide

Based in The Gaeltacht of Corca Dhuibhne (South West Ireland), Dairena Ní Chinnéide is a bilingual poet writing in Irish and English. Her most recent work DELETED is her first collection in English. She also is a translator and often translates her own work from Irish. She was an Irish-Language Writer-in-Residence in Dublin City University (2017-2018).

During her residency in the CCI, she will work on a prose-poetry narrative piece in both English and Irish, using the concept of The Song of the Books, a lament by Tomás Rua Ó Súilleabháin (dating from the 1850s) about the content of a valuable library being lost in a storm.
