Alan Butler

Exploring technologically-mediated realities is the focus of multi-media artist Alan Butler’s practice. His work investigates material and philosophical ideas about how imagery and meaning function in these realities. During his residency, he will use an early mode of photography, wet-plate collodion, to examine how landscapes from the 19th-century have been represented through the history of video games.
