Ailbhe Barrett
September 2019

in partnership with Graphic Print Studio
A self-taught artist, Ailbhe Barrett recently won the ESB Keating medal at the Royal Hibernian Academy for her painting ‘Presence’. Her interest lies in the manner in which landscape imagery communicates with the viewer in far deeper ways than the merely topographic. At the CCI, she will develop a new body of work that looks further into the approach of 19th century landscape painters who abandoned traditional technique and theorized new use of colour.
