The CCI’s Old Library is one of the few surviving libraries of the many colleges, convents and monasteries which were situated in the Montagne-Sainte-Geneviève area of Paris until the end of the 18th century.

This visit is the opportunity to see the treasures of the Old Library - its three illuminated manuscripts dating from c.1500 – as well as a fascinating temporary exhibition of accounts by 16th, 17th and 18th century travellers. Two rare works generously lent by the neighbouring Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève are exhibited alongside books from the CCI’s Old Library. The curator of the exhibition Conquering the Unknown, Ladislas Latoch, leads the guided visit.
