These two singer-songwriters emerged onto the folk music scene in 2023 and are already rising stars.

Megan Nic Ruairí's musical journey has been deeply influenced by her love of the Irish language and poetry. Brought up in Donegal, her distinctive musical style has evolved from performing as a member of family band Clann Mhic Ruairí followed by experiences in London and Nottingham, as well participating in the Dublin-based alternative rock ensemble BIG LOVE. This evening, she plays from her debut EP "Made Of Sin" which was released at the beginning of the year.

Dubliner Rachael Lavelle, has seen her first album Big Dreams shortlisted for Ireland’s Choice Music prize. Chronicling the journey of a young woman as she searches for direction and meaning in a very strange world, it has captivated audiences with the singer-songwriter’s arresting voice and humorous observations on existence. Merging classical and contemporary influences, her hypnotic live performances blend electronic soundscapes with spoken word and acrobatic vocals.
