European Heritage Days

Programme for these two open-days at the CCI:

_ Access all afternoon to our 18th-century Old Library with the treasures of the collection on view: three illuminated manuscripts that date from the Middle Ages

_ Rencontre in the Old Library with the paper conservationist Niamh McGuinne who presents the techniques used for restoring old documents

_ Saint Patrick’s chapel open for all to visit

_ Books, magazines, CDs, films and many more resources on Ireland’s heritage and contemporary culture available for all to consult in the Médiathèque

_ Demonstration by artisan soap-maker Suzanne Clarke, currently in residence at the CCI

_ Doors open for all to visit our three current exhibitions Empathy Lab by Colin Martin, Electro-Fuse by Electronic Sheep, and Jouez ! Jouez ! in the courtyard


And not to be missed:

_ Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, concert of classical and contemporary Irish works by a young ensemble

_ Saturday and Sunday at 3pm, 4.30pm and 5.30pm, recitals by soprano Deirdre Higgins, accompanied by pianist Luke Lally Maguire, presented by Feis Ceoil
