John Spillane & Gráinne Hunt et Deirbhile Ní Bhrolcháin

‘A poet of song’ is how John Spillane has been described. Masterfully combining intimacy and humour, he is one of Ireland’s most popular songwriters, amongst his peers and audiences alike. He plays two special evenings of folk-trad at the CCI with guest singers who have taken part, like him, in the Didier Jeunesse book-CD of children’s songs.

This first evening he is joined by the singer-songwriter Gráinne Hunt and traditional singer Deirbhile Ní Bhrolcháin. Together they will fill the chapel with traditional ballads, pop-folk and story-songs that bring us on a magical musical journey. On Saturday, the folk duo Varo will perform.
