'Grief is love with nowhere to go', Jamie Anderson.
Join us for a poetry writing and perfume workshop on Valentine's Day that will consider the themes of love and grief through our sense of smell. What role does scent play in how our bodies process and accept loss? Is language a solid thing to be held and preserved or could it be more diffuse and illusory like a perfume? These themes will be investigated through the symbol of the rose, a flower beloved in both Irish and French poetry, and by creating new poems that breathe and bloom.
This workshop will be led by writer Sarah Byrne who studied Criminology at the University of Cambridge and Creative Writing at the University of Oxford, and perfumer Lucille Lefrang who trained at the Ecole Supérieure du Parfum Paris, the Ecole du Louvre and the Jeu de Paume.
