Vivienne Roche
January — April 2013

Cork-born Vivienne Roche has major public sculptures in many sites around Ireland including St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin Castle Dublin Dental Hospital, Fingal County Hall and the National College of Ireland. More recently she made Light House, a poem sculpture, with Derek Mahon and Light Ensemble for Cork School of Music. Her last exhibition was A Light Interlude from the Pulpit at Triskel. In Paris she will do a series of large-scale drawings of details of the buildings on which the great Irish engineer Peter Rice worked, including the ‘gerberettes’ of the Pompidou Centre. Rice will be the subject of a major exhibition and international conference in the CCI in May, where Roche’s drawings will also feature.
