Dublin-born author Trevor Byrne received exceptional critical acclaim for his novel Ghosts & Lightning; his short fiction includes Nothing at the Top, Mad for Rain and I’ve Hardly Slept at All in the New Island anthology of Irish Short Fiction. His second novel will appear in 2013 and he will begin research and work on his third novel during his residency. Largely set in Paris during the 1980s, it is a fictional retelling of the last decade of Samuel Beckett’s life, from the point of view of an Irish actor.
