
Tom Swift

Writer-in-residence Tom Swift is a playwright and screenwriter. A founding member of The Performance Corporation, he is interested in ‘the surprising places’ that spring from theatre. His stage adaptation of Candide earned him the Irish Times/ESB Irish Theatre Award in 2002 and his productions include The Seven Deadly Sins, The Butterfly Ranch and Dr. Ledbetter’s Experiment. He has also written a successful radio play The Flying Dutchman of Iniskill and short films ‘Brixton Bob’ and ‘A Life’. His residency at the CCI is focused on adapting for the stage a version of Guy de Maupassant’s short story Boule de Suif.
