Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin

Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin writes fiction, non-fiction, screenplays and songs for both adults and children. Working predominantly in the Irish language, recent success includes a European Union Prize for Literature Special Mention for Madame Lazare, the first work ever in Irish to be nominated for the prize. His writing has been translated to a range of languages in both Europe and Asia.

While in Paris, he will be focussing on a new novel, Conamara, the story of Peadar Seoighe, a sean-nós singer who achieves international fame and his estranged teenage daughter Sail, who reappears in his life at a time of crisis. Like Madame Lazare, the story moves in time and place between the west of Ireland and the European continent.
