In partnership with Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Arts Office
Shane Lynam is an Irish artist and photographer. He studied politics and worked in the health sector in Paris before deciding to focus on art photography. A graduate from the Newport School of Photography, he won the RHA Curtin O'Donohue Photography Award in 2018. By immersing himself in built environments over a prolonged period and using a very specific visual vocabulary, his work seeks to reflect on the function and history of public space. While at the CCi, Shane Lynam will further develop an important body of work, ‘Contours’, initiated during his years working in Paris where he began photographing green areas next to apartment residences in the 'banlieue'.
