Pádraic E.Moore

Pádraic E. Moore is a writer, curator and art historian. He holds a Bachelor in History of Art and English Literature from University College Dublin and an Master in Visual Art Practices from Dun Laoghaire Institute Of Art Design and Technology, Dublin. Moore completed CuratorLab, the postgraduate programme at Konstfack University, Stockholm and is an alumnus of the Jan van Eyck Academy, Maastricht. From 2019 to 2021 he was guest curator at Garage Rotterdam and led several significant new commissions in this role. In 2022 he became the inaugural mentor of Catalyst Commissions at De Appel, Amsterdam. In 2024, Moore was appointed as Artistic Director of Ormston House, Limerick.

During his residency at CCI, Moore will engage in research that will inform his practice and shape future projects. He will visit the Paris Theosophical Society, which was founded in 1887 and has remained active ever since. The popularity of Theosophy in France is demonstrated by the construction of an impressive headquarters in 1912. The Art-Nouveau building (located at Square Rapp in the 7th arrondissement) was designed by Jules Aimé Lavirotte and is still occupied by the society. Moore will also carry out studio visits with Margaret Haines, a Canadian artist and filmmaker currently in residence at La Cité internationale des Arts, Paris. Originally from Montréal, Haines’ multidisciplinary, research-based practice combines film, literature, philosophy, astrology, photography and installation.
