Michael Harding is a short-story writer, novelist, playwright and actor. The author of novels Priest and The Trouble with Sarah Gullion, his work in recent years has focused largely on theatre. He has written numerous plays such as Una Pooka, Misogynist, The Kiss and Swallow, many of which have opened to acclaim at the Abbey Theatre and on the Peacock Stage, as well as touring widely. He holds many accolades, along them the Steward-Parker Award for Theatre, the Bank of Ireland RTE Award and Hennessy Literary Award. He was named Best Actor at the Dublin Theatre Fringe Festival for his performance in Swallow in 2004. He has been writer-in-association with The National Theatre and in Trinity College Dublin. He is a member of Aosdána.
