Katie Holten
September — December 2006
Having pursued her studies of Fine Art in Dublin, Berlin and New York, Katie Holten has launched an artistic career which has continued to expand internationally. Her aesthetic is inspired by social and environmental causes, explorations of history, ecology and the inextricable, and inescapable relationship between man and the natural world. Working across a dynamic range of media from drawing, sculptures and installations to book prints and public artworks, she was exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2003 and was awarded a Fulbright scholarship in its wake in 2004. She received the Pollack Krasner Award in 2005. Sensitive to the particularities of places in their particular time, she frequently engages in site-specific projects. Her residency will include an exhibition of her newest installation. http://www.katieholten.com/
