Joy Gerrard is a visual artist living in Belfast whose Japanese ink images are sourced in photographic documentation. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, London, she is known for her multimedia work that investigates different systems of relations between crowds, architecture and built environment. Her images archive Anti-Brexit protests, the Trump Resistance, Occupy movement, Arab Risings and ‘Black Lives Matter’ protests as well as responses to terrorist events in Paris and the Gilet Jaunes movement. She will continue these artistic archives from recent French events while at CCI.
