John F Deane

As founder of Poetry Ireland and the Poetry Ireland Review, the poet and novelist John F. Deane has left an indelible mark on the Irish poetic landscape. He also established Dedalus Press which continues to lead Irish publishing in its European focus and essential translation of continental poets. Recent works of the poet include Toccata and Fugue: New and Selected Poems (2000), Manhandling the Deity (2003) and The Instruments of Art (2005). He is a member of Aosdána and in 2007, was made Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres. His poetry has been translated in French, Bulgarian, Romanian, Italian, Swedish, Slovak and Macedonian. http://www.johnfdeane.com/
