John Beattie

John Beattie’s work re-addresses cultural narratives and events on the subject and location of the ‘studio’. Through still and moving-image, Beattie reconstructs new interpretations, meaning, and value on the subject of the studio as a site for further inquiry in his choreographed productions. A most recent example of this can be seen through his new work in development on the Reconstructed Paris studio of Piet Mondrian, supported by The Arts Council of Ireland. He will pursue this long-term project during his residency at the CCI and the resulting work will be shown at his 2021 solo exhibition at Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane.
