Irene Buckley

Irene is a composer based in Cork. Her compositional output has focused primarily on collaboration; a cross-fertilization of disciplines ranging from contemporary dance and theatre to art installations and live scores to silent film.
She received IFTA nominations for her scores Nothing Compares and That They May Face the Rising Sun (both co-composed with Linda Buckley). Nothing Compares also received a Cinema Eye Honor nomination for Outstanding Original Score.
While at the CCI, Irene will create and perform new work with her sister Linda, for the opening of a new exhibition by Joseph Walsh and Sara Flynn.
