Greg Delanty

Hailing from Cork, writer-in-residence Greg Delanty won the Patrick Kavanagh Award for his début collection Cast in Fire and has gone on to publish several others, along them American Wake (1995), The Ship of Birth (2003) and a Collected Poems 1986-2006. Spanning ideas of exploration and exile, transition and place, he has been widely anthologised in Irish and American publications. He has translated Irish language writers Seán O Ríordáin and Patrick Galvin as well as issuing The Selected Poems of Kyriakos Charalambides in Translation (2005) from his native Greek. Winner of the Dowling Fellowship, the National Poetry Competition and the Austen Clarke Centenary Poetry Prize, he has recently been awarded a Guggenheim grant for Poetry.
