Dragana Jurisic

Based in Ireland, Dragana Jurisic works predominantly through the media of photography, film and installation. Her practice explores issues of gender, stereotyping and the effects of exile and displacement on memory and identity. Since receiving a distinction for her MFA in 2008, Dragana Jurisic has won a significant number of awards. In December 2013, she completed her PhD and finalized an important three-year long project YU: The Lost Country. During her residency, she will work on a new exhibition and book that explores the lives of two women characterised by their ferocious desire for freedom; one of them will be based on her own aunt who emigrated to Paris from Yougoslavia in the 1950s.
