Doireann Ní Ghlacáin

Dr. Doireann Ní Ghlacáin is a fiddle player, sean nós singer, academic and broadcaster from the north side of Dublin. From her father's family she inherited a love for traditional music and under the tutelage of her father Kevin Glackin began a life long journey of learning the fiddle at just 3 years of age. From her mother's family, the Ó Riada's of Cúil Aodha she inherited a passion for the Irish language, traditional arts and sean nós song. In 2024 she completed a PhD at the University of Galway on oral poetry under the supervision of Lillis Ó Laoire. She works full time as a broadcast on TG4 and RTÉ and is 1/3 of the hugely popular How To Gael podcast.
