Deirdre is an award-winning playwright, member of Aosdána, Meath County Council, the Abbey Theatre, Theatre Forum Ireland, and la Stewart Parker Trust. Elle has recently adapted Tremblay’s The Unmanageable Sisters, worked with Julie Walkers at Old Vic London, and has participated in collaborative residencies within the Irish Arts Centre (NYC) and Meath County Council.

During her residency at the CCI, she will be working on a script for her new Musical Theatre piece Ettie, which explores the world of Little Jerusalem (the Dublin Jewish Quarter) at the turn of the 20th century, inspired by the life of Ettie Steinberg, murdered in Auschwitz in 1942.
