Deirdre Dwyer

Deirdre writes and directs theatre for young audiences and is a set and costume designer for theatre, opera, dance and film. She trained in UCC (BA English and Drama), at RWCMD (MA Theatre Design), and on Rough Magic SEEDS3 programme. She teaches design on the DTS BA in UCC and BCTATS in MIC and is a founder member and treasurer of ISSD (Irish Society of Stage and Screen Designers).

During her residency at CCI, Deirdre will work on a new show, researching the children’s stories of Charles Perraut and Madame d’Aulnoy with a view to creating a play focusing on their female protagonists.
