Clara Simpson

Actress and director Clara Simpson settled in France decades ago and has acted in numerous productions directed by Christian Schiaretti (TNP, Villeurbanne), notably Mai, Juin, Juillet (Festival d’Avignon), Le Roi Lear (Théâtre de la Ville, Paris), Créanciers, Mlle Julie (La Colline, Paris). She also regularly works with Irish theatre companies including Corn Exchange, Pan Pan, Dead Centre. During her residency, Clara will develop the staging of a triptych – Riders to the Sea and In the Shadow of the Glen by John Millington Synge and Purgatory by William Butler Yeats – newly translated into French by Jean-Pierre Siméon.
