Carmel Winters

Writer and director Carmel Winters enjoyed critical success with her play B for Baby in the Abbey Theatre; it later won Best New Play award from the Irish Times. Her film SNAP won Best Irish Feature and Best Director in the Dublin Critics Circle Awards. Her residency will be devoted to researching the personal, cultural and political experiences of Maud Gonne during her many extended periods of residence in Paris. This will inform and inspire both a feature film and a theatre play on the life of Gonne.
