Barry Donohue is making a name for himself internationally as one of Ireland’s new jazz luminaries. He is also renowned for playing other genres such as classical/orchestral music, folk, R&B, drum n’bass, Afro soul music, Afro-Cuban music, Brazilian music, to name a few. He has worked with many different singers and musicians including Nils Wogram, Chris Guilfoyle’s ‘Umbra’, Michael Arbenz, Mary Coughlan, Sean Keane, Loah, Izumi Kimura, Christian Li, Michael Buckley and Francesco Turrisi. While working towards an M.A. in Music from the esteemed Hochschule Lucerne in Switzerland, Barry spent a semester studying in Paris with double bass master Thierry Barbé. His residency at CCI will provide the opportunity to take up where they left off, along with giving him the opportunity to work towards finishing his debut album Satori.
