Avril Corroon

Avril Corroon is a visual artist from Westmeath working with sculpture, video, performance and social practice. Her work examines inequity and how architecture manifests governance. She has made cheese from toxic mould, collected 1800L of dehumidifier water and performed on a city rooftop as the Airbnb logo. For the past three years Avril has worked on the project GOT DAMP which explores the potential for damp and breath as a material for an artwork and works with people to make it.

At the CCI she will delve into the city’s rich expertise in perfumery and renowned culinary reputation, receiving mentorship from a nez, visiting the prestigious school of perfume and flavourings the ISIPCA and undertake a class in French cheese making.
