Adrian Duncan is an artist and writer based in Ireland and Berlin. His latest film, Tension Structures, (co-directed with Feargal Ward) received its North American premier at Hot Docs, Toronto, in 2020. His debut novel Love Notes from a German Building Site won the 2019 John McGahern Book Prize and his second, A Sabbatical in Leipzig, was published by The Lilliput Press in 2020. During his residency, Adrian will finish work on his forthcoming collection, Midfield Dynamo, that brings together short stories written over the last decade, some of which were published in The Dublin Review, The Moth, and The Stinging Fly. He will also continue work on his new novel, The Geometer Lobachevsky, told from the point of view of a Russian geometer who has come to assist with a land survey in 1950s Ireland.
