The Old Library's preservation campaign 2023

The Centre Culturel Irlandais has just finished a major preventive conservation campaign to dust off the 8,000 old and precious books in its heritage library!

For several weeks in 2023, professionals from 'Atelier Filigrane' worked alongside us in the Old Library, meticulously examining and cleaning our manuscripts and printed books that date from the 15th to the 19th centuries. This type of once-in-a-decade project is a vital means of preventing damage by mould or infestation by insects, and allows us to preserve these important collections for future generations.
