Gemma Anderson

Artist-in-residence Gemma Anderson, from Northern Ireland, has transformed minerals and orchids into unique miniature landscapes of the imagination. These works have been drawn directly onto copper plate from the collection at the the Ecole des Mines and the Luxembourg Gardens. Her portraits are also drawn from life and bring the individuals into the strange world she creates. Inspired by Henri Rousseau, Joachim Patiner and Max Ernst, the works combine fiction and true observation.
