This special evening blends words and music. Two of our artists in residence, the singer Farah Elle and the slam poet Stephen James Smith, will be joined tonight by the comedian Áine Gallagher.

Known as the “queen of the offbeat,” Áine Gallagher is an award-winning comedian who is fast becoming one of Ireland's most original comic acts. In 2024, Áine embarked on a sold-out national tour and was listed among the Irish Times 50 People to Watch. With her novel use of bilingual comedy, Áine is also a leading advocate for Irish language learning. Tonight, Áine will bring her quirky and deadpan style to this must-see show.

Deeply defined by her Libyan roots, singer-songwriter Farah Elle will share with us her very own songs for piano as well as intimate selections from her debut album, Fatima (2022). Her music enchantingly weaves together pop, touches of R’n’B and jazz and Middle Eastern music. Her songwriting touches on themes of mourning and survivors’ guilt, empowerment and revolution as well as love and spirituality.

The spoken word poet Stephen James Smith will recite their critically acclaimed poems including some written during their stay here in Paris. Their videos – including the captivating performance “My Ireland” – have garnered millions of views in recent years. The Dublin poet often performs at festivals and on Ireland’s most prestigious stages (National Concert Hall, Abbey Theatre…) as well as internationally.
