In the presence of the choreographer Michael Keegan-Dolan

On the remote Dingle Peninsula in Ireland, twelve international dancers of Teaċ Daṁsa gather together with the virtuoso concertina player Cormac Begley and the European musical collective s t a r g a z e to rehearse a new production, Mám, by choreographer Michael Keegan-Dolan. Acclaimed documentary filmmaker Pat Collins captures the creative process of marrying soloist and ensemble, classical and traditional, local and universal from these first tentative steps to the triumphant opening night at the Dublin Theatre Festival in 2019. “The resulting film, The Dance, achieves the near impossible: it captures the transient nature of the medium it observes. It’s one of those rare films that is a work of art about a work of art.” (Irish Times)
