Rentrée – Opening night
At 6pm, photographer Samuel Laurence Cunnane is in conversation with Darragh Hogan, co-director of Kerlin Gallery in Dublin, our partner for this exhibition (admission free - in English - book here).
The exhibition Un jeune homme s'habille sur une plage à Nice et autres images opens its doors in the main gallery, as does the Old Library hosting Amitiés littéraires: florilège de la Bibliothèque littéraire Jacques Doucet. This exhibition features a selection of archives relating to four great Irish figures who left their mark on Parisian artistic and intellectual life: James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Francis Bacon and Oscar Wilde.
From 7pm to 9pm, our artists in residence, the painter Atsushi Kaga and the architects Dean Black and James Martin, open their studios to the public and the film “D A N S E (S)” will be shown on a loop. This FICEP initiative brings together nine short dance clips from Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Quebec, Taiwan and Ukraine. Representing Ireland, “Rising Voices” was filmed and choreographed by Alexandre Iseli and Derek Pedros, in collaboration with Rocío Dominguez and dancers Lauren McGonagle, Anja Nicholson and Ben Sullivan.
The Médiathèque will be open all evening.
