Our artist in residence Tom Meskell has crafted a special installation of lanterns to light up the CCI’s courtyard from the end of January until mid-February.
An integral part of our evening celebrating Imbolg, the ancient Celtic festival of light, Silva Lumina takes on an ethereal presence at nightfall. The artist invites us to weave through a landscape of luminous sculptures that blend human and plant forms to embody hope and community, with sound by Colm O Snodaigh and Brian Hogan of the renowned trad group Kíla. Together with Tom Climent’s exhibition ‘Etat Sauvage’, the CCI offers an uplifting meditation on life, making and being.
Silva Lumina was first created for First Fortnight – Mental Health, Arts & Culture Festival 2024: https://www.firstfortnight.ie/about/
