Marché de la Poésie
Guest country: Ireland
Irish poetry and culture are the focus of this year’s Marché de la Poésie in Paris!
Since its creation in 1983, the Marché de la Poésie has become one of the major literary events of the Parisian scene. Every year, when spring turns into summer, around 400 publishers, booksellers, authors and musicians gather in the beautiful Place St Sulpice in the 6th arrondissement, to celebrate poetry.Thirteen years after its first Irish focus, the Marché de la Poésie has been chosen as "country of honour" once again. A delegation of 9 Irish poets will be present : Cúán de Búrca, Vona Groarke, Mícheál McCann, Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, Annemarie Ní Churreáin, Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh, Mary Noonan, Leanne Quinn and Stephen Sexton.
