John Spillane & Varo

Deemed to be “among the last of the great bards” (Hot Press), John Spillane is highly respected by his peers and very popular with Irish audiences. He plays two special evenings of folk-trad in the chapel with guest singers who have taken part, like him, in the Didier Jeunesse book-CD of children’s songs.

For this second evening he is joined by the folk duo Varo. Lucie Azconaga and Consuelo Nerea Breschi perform traditional Irish songs and tunes while bringing in baroque and classical influences.
