Acclaimed singer-songwriter Edel Meade works in the field of jazz, folk and contemporary music. Her second album, ‘Brigids and Patricias’, reflects on what it means to be a woman living in 21st-century Ireland, shaped by the country’s history, folklore and contemporary society. It was listed as one of the 10 Best Irish Albums of the Year 2021 by The Irish Times. Tonight she is special guest at our Gaulín Traditional Singers’ Club. A meeting place and platform for people who enjoy singing and listening to traditional song, the Club welcomes those who would like to sing or just listen. While there is an emphasis on Irish song, any traditional song is valued.
